Mrs Beatrice Blanche Macdonald was married to Dr George Bothwell Douglas Macdonald of Orange, New South Wales. She wrote women's columns for the 'Sydney Morning Herald' and 'The Herald', sometimes interviewing the English aristocracy from her base in London. In 1927, Mrs Macdonald was active in fundraising for the Kindergarten Union of N.S.W. In 1931-1932, she was a strong advocate of film censorship and instrumental in barring children from viewing unsuitable material. Her son, Norman R.L. Macdonald, was in the training battalion of the Welsh guards, Sussex, and post World War II, an industrial co-ordinator with the allied commission.
